Communications Coordinator

Responsible to: Communications Director


Working Relationships: Communications Director, Staff, Department Heads and Ministry Leaders


Scope of Position:  The Communications Coordinator supports the Communications Director, Online Community Pastor / Video Director, KCC staff and other KCC ministries by executing and monitoring communications strategies. This position will assist the Communications Director in; producing design for print and digital channels, especially in regards to weekly communication; assist in overseeing and managing the My KCC App and the website; involvement with marketing materials such as press releases, blog posts, and newsletters; tracking and reporting analytics on marketing and communications campaigns and coordinating promotional events. 


Time Commitment:  Part-Time 29 hours/week


Typical Duties: 

  • Social Media (10-15 hours)
    • Creates marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
    • Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including advertising, product development, and brand management
    • Provides guidance to social media and marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies
    • Collects customer data and analysis interactions and visits, plus uses this information to create comprehensive reports and improve future marketing strategies and campaigns
    • Grows and expands company social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increases presence on existing platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
    • Creates and distributes engaging written or graphic content in the form of e-newsletters, web page and blog content, or social media messages


  • Design / Web / App / Print (10-14 hours)
    • Assist Communications Director with organizing, creating and proofreading all weekend service communication
    • Organize, create monthly email blast for all subscribed attenders of e-Happenings by collaborating with staff to produce clear communication of KCC Ministries and ministry needs
    • Assist Communications Director with working with staff to create design for special projects/events that clearly communicates our brand and vision
    • Assist Communications Director with creating graphic digital/print collateral for all promotion and marketing of church-wide events
    • Assist in maintaining and updating accurate information on the website and app
    • Assist in the completion of all in-house production of full-color print needs for all ministries


Position Requirements:

  • Become a member of KCC by completing First Steps and Next Steps within 8 months of employment
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills

  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to Detail, Self-Motivated, Creative Problem-Solving Skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiar with MS Office
  • Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Experience with Social Media Management and with Major Social Media Platforms
  • Knowledge of email marketing software such as MailChimp, Constant Contact or a similar program
  • Proven knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices
  • Data Collection and Analysis, Technology Skills
